Torpedoed hospital ship found off Australian coast
A British search team has found the last resting place of an allied hospital ship torpedoed by a Japanese submarine during the Second World War.

The Australian vessel was carrying 332 medical personnel and a civilian crew and only 64 people survived the attack on May 14, 1943.
British shipwreck hunter David Mearns yesterday announced his team had located the wreck of the Scottish-built Centaur off the Queensland coast.
Stephen AlexanderDetailed filming of the wreck site is due to begin in the New Year and the Queensland Government is expected to declare the wreck site an official war grave protected by a total exclusion zone.
News of the discovery was welcomed by Australia's acting prime minister Julia Gillard, who said it would bring closure for the relatives of those who lost their lives >>>>
