Re: EAW WW1 Theatre

Haven't thought that far ahead.

However, since I have a lifetime ban at SimHQ I was hoping you could really hype it for me.

Re: EAW WW1 Theatre

I haven't done much with the FM's yet. I tried a couple of FM's that came with some of the models but most cause immediate CTD's when trying to play or else the numbers are far off. For example, I has the thrilling experiences of a 280 MPH Sopwith Camel......unfortunately the modder has also edited ...

Re: EAW WW1 Theatre

Just a quick update: The Nieuport 11,12, 17 and 28 are compete. The Sopwith Pup, Camel, Dolphin and 1 1/2 Strutter are complete. The RE-8 is done. The DH-2 is done. The Se5a is done. The Morane N and the Breguet 14 are driving me crazy. I think I'm going to have to convert them to my "empty F&q...

Re: EAW WW1 Theatre

Yea, it is a lot of trouble. However, once I get a handle on fixing a model, it's fairly straightforward applying the same fixes to other models by the same builder. For instance, the Nieuport 11/12/17 model and the Nieuport 24/27/27 models are about 80-90% the same because they come from the same m...

Re: EAW WW1 Theatre

I haven't looked at the FM's but from my experience with some of the pre-WW 2 biplanes I'm pretty sure I can make them work.

Re: EAW WW1 Theatre

What I left out of my post was the fact that even with my attention to detail, these models aren't perfect. Due to their extreme complexity (as far as 3dz modeling goes), I can only get about 95% R/S compliance, with the few remaining issues only being detectable from oblique angles. I'm fine with t...

Re: EAW WW1 Theatre

I just wanted to give an update on the project. I started with the Nieuport model which can be used for everything from the 11, 12, 16 and 17. Now, I'm not trying to be critical here. I do think these are well done in the sense that the proportions are good except for the landing gear being too wide...

Re: EAW WW1 Theatre

Thanks for the "what if" information. You're new to the forum so you probably don't know the "what-if" aircraft are my specialty. When you get a chance, take a look at the models in the "ALT" folder of the 1.6 package. In there you will find hundreds of interesting odd ...

Re: EAW WW1 Theatre

I'm not too familiar with squadron designations for the WW 1 aircraft and I'd like to avoid screening through tons of photos and such to find out hope they're set up. So I'm was hoping one of you could chip in on this project by giving my some guidance. As an example: On the Nieuport 11 I'm working ...

Re: EAW WW1 Theatre

Funny, yesterday I was thinking about attaching rockets to the struts on some of the planes for killing these things.

Re: EAW WW1 Theatre

Ok, I'll try putting the map files in the main folder. So far, I've found some interesting things on these models. As expected most of them have major R/S issues but all fixable. What surprised me is that the SE5 is almost perfect with a very minor R/S issue with the landing gear. Someone knew what ...

Re: EAW WW1 Theatre

Ok I have the two plain white targ map files as shown but while they show up in the root folder of TWFTheater but they don't show up in the game. Wrong resolution or wrong folder are the only two things I can thing of. Any suggestions? PS - Good news is the game works with some of the WW1 models. Lo...

Re: EAW WW1 Theatre

I'll take those engine and gun sounds, please.

Also, in the new D/L's I still don't see a new map. I've forgotten what the file name is for that particular screen.
