Format and colour of the board

Post by Moggy »

I've been looking at some of the various colour schemes you can get for phpBB HERE and wondering if any of them might be more suitable for The Gen - any one got any opinions ideas or suggestions?

Well,okay,an opinion I can offer,would be......
While the existing scheme fits well with your homepages colors,as a forum I find that, similar to simhq, the white border adds to eye strain after a prolonged session(which I am sometimes prone to do)therefore, any of the darker tones(not too dark)like......
mediocre
methodtothemadness
FSgreen

any of the above would be nice

Something either more military/aviation or just something clean but slick.

Csims military style one is kinda neat. Should try and find that theme.

I don't find much wrong with your present layout.

The amount of white may be a little tough on tired eyes, as Shreck finds. I don't mind. Generally, I like the soft backgrounds with good contrast. SubSilver or SwiftBlue are similar to your style and the white is eliminated or softened.

If you want something a little more different, interesting and spicy, look in the "Styles" demos:
try NoteBored.
or JustFooty

It's unusual and attractive to see discreet greens or soft yellows and browns and they might hold up after long use.

No blacks, angry reds and very dark screens, PLEASE.
