Hello to everyone at The Gen
I wonder which one was the first flight sim widely available in the UK well before the PC and DOS.
This past weekend, while clearing our garage, I came across a plastic bag full of cassettes, it contained games for my Sinclair ZX Spectrum, many of the sims:” Flight Simulation” by Psion, “Fighter Pilot” and “Night Gunner” by Digital Integration and probably, as far as I can remember, the most advanced of them all “Combat Lynx” by Durrell Software an ‘Air to ground-battle simulation’, tremendous fun.
I remember now that well before the Spectrum there was a Commodore (beige in colour which looked like a fat PC keyboard) it had a “Tornado” program that was quite good (after playing it I decided that I had to buy a computer) and about the same period another Sinclair X 80 or something, with B&W screen that had an earlier version of “Flight Simulation” by Psion.
The only other thing that I remember about that period (early 80’s) was the variety of small computers available… Anny comments?

I had the Timex-Sinclair ZX81 and Psion's Flight Simulator. It was really fun. This was back in '82 or so.
When I got an IBM PC, I picked up Chuck Yeager's Advanced Flight Trainer, where you could fly several types of planes, including bi-wings up to fighter jets.
I also got Microsoft Flight Simulator 3.0 back around that time, 89 or so.
