First of all, thanks Moggy for your help getting registered.

I have a new addition that needs a little help:

The E15K "Norm". High speed recon float plane.

Image

2 Bladed contra-props, retractable wing floats and jettisonable main float.

Capable of 290 MPH with the float attached and 340 MPH with it gone. Landing without it the pilots were instructed to leave the wing floats in the up position to act as floation devices.

My problems have to do with the flight penalty and the action of the retractable floats.

1 - The wing floats elongate when opening and closing. Not sure how to fix this.

2 - I've made the main float a droptank. I added it to the first choice in the loadout editor so it is on the plane in all scenarios. It works great and your mates will drop it if attacked.

Problem is, no matter what drag and weight numbers I edit into the weapons.dat file I get no change in top speed when I dump the float. I have tried various combinations up to FF FF for both the weight and drag values. I also tried increasing the amount of floats up to 100 in the loadout just to see if antyhing changed. Nada, but quite a sight watching 100 main floats dropping down from the sky!
Oh, and the difficulty setting in the game is set to realistic flight model.

I guess Knegle would be the person most likely to help sort this out.

Hi Rotton,

i use Mr. Jellys WEdit.exe to edit the loadout.dat.

The drag value (flight penalty) dont seems to work like it should, even at highest value, it dont add drag, but weight work well on my side.

But the weight almost only influence the climb, while the Vmax remain almost the same.
