Here's to Cpl. Henry Fletcher, U.S. Expeditionary Force 1918, my wifes' grandfather. Huzza! Huzza! Huzza!

Boys lept into planes
And shot up the sky,
Some were to live
Some were to die;
Eagles and sparrows all were amazed
To see big worms that ran in the mud
Rise up and shed one another's blood
"Never have we seen the days
"When clouds have been grazed
"By men and machines playing our game;
"When men become birds, nothing's the same;
"These men are crazy as loons
"One day they will try to fly to the Moon."

Yes. Last remaining founder member of the RAF. Henry Allingham. The other vets are a sprightly 108 and 110.

Slight OT but still relevant

"...In Flanders Fields the poppies grow
between the crosses row on row
to mark the dead

To Flanders Fields the hippies go
to smoke the poppies there below
and feed their heads

And they're all friends of mine, each and every one of them, no better or no worse
And we'll probably end up down there together when it's all over

And that's why we say
b-bay-b-bay-b-bay-b-bay-b-baby ...

It's all over and it's all right.

Hee, hee, Mike.
You think maybe those hippies saw something we later forgot?
