1.28c Surprising Features...

Hi Guys,
I'd like to take a moment to add my voice to the growing list
for appreciative users of the latest 1.28c exe.
I believe that this is, by far, the crowning achievement of the Code Group.
The addons and features offered in this latest exe are truely spectacular.
After playing SPAW with the 1.28c exe I have discovered many surprises
that were part of the 1.28c offering.....
Some of those surprises, I discovered in the both the
'Wing Leveler' and 'Auto Climb' features.
Normally, I start most of my campaigns flying as the lowest ranking pilot
and work my way in through the ranks.
However, just for a change with SPAW I've been flying as the CO of the Squadron.
In this command position I've found that with 'Level Wings' chosen
I have throttle control and can regulate the cruising speed of the Squadron
both into and out of the target area. This has the effect of controlling
the amount of fuel burn that is consumed by the Squadron
during the complete mission. Also I have found that the 'Wing Level'
feature to be 'rock solid'. No more does my aircraft 'drift' off course
while this feature is engaged. Thanks to the modder for this one.
Also with 'Auto Climb' selected, I now have the same speed control
with the throttle wheel on my joystck. What I've found is that after the initial pitch-up
the aircraft settles back to a gradual climb. In the flight mod, by either increasing or
decreasing the A/C's engine speed. I can now control the rate-of-climb.
Now, I have the ability to chose the most efficient rate-of-climb, thus
again, conserve the rate-of-fuel burn by the Squadron.
I have also discovered that should I retard the throttle control enough,
I can also control the rate-of-decent. This 'Auto Climb' feature is also as 'rock solid',
with regards to the compass setting, as 'Wing Leveler' feature is.
A further benefit is that with 'Wing Leveler' I can now chose to
either maintain my escort station with the bombers, chose any atitude above them
as we proceed into the target area or advance the throttle to preceed beyond them
and intercept the enemy sooner.....
Another feature is the 'Encounter Enemy'.
Now, I must disclose, that I imagined that this had something to do with
intercepting aircraft and it does. However, I hadn't thought that with this feaure
it would make it possible to final 'catch the enemy on the ground'.
I was very surprised to find that during a SPAW Strike mission to a Japanese airfield
that Army Zero's would now spawn on the runway ready for take-off.
Well, I winged over and straffed a fighter while it was taking -off.
I have waited 9 years to have the opportunity to finally strafe
enemy A/Cs on the ground.....and now I can.
All these features added tremendous atmospheric involvement to the game.....
I'm sure that I'm just scratching the surface and there are many more features for me to discover.
Many thanks guys.....for all your efforts developing this exciting
1.28c exe on behave of the EAW users.
Cheers mates
