Updated aircraft-Romanian IAR79

Post by Moggy »

This is Ray Otton's updated model of the Romanian IAR 79:

This was the Romanian built version of the Italian SM79B.

The model is for the 1941-Barbarossa-Moldova scenario in the fothcoming 160 Italy-Balkans-Ukraine addon.

Escort on this occasion:

As with most of my models this was an upgrade to the original lo-res one with rounder wheels, engine nacels, wing tips and rudder. Also fixed a bunch of mapping errors, added waist guns and radio antenna.

The little touches like this really make a difference.

FWIW, I was a little dubious about the camo paint job but it looks pretty good with that terrain set.

There's another twin engine conversion of the tri-motor SM79 with the designation SM79-JR with inline Jumo engines in place of the radials. It will also be available in the next aircraft upgrade package.

Looks very good to me. And just the type I also need in Iraqi camo for the 1941 Iraq campaign. That actually does complete the plane set for that scenario.

Many thanks Ray
