Hi Guys.

Can anyone tell me if a hardwired link, from my PC to an ADSL modem, via a D-Link wireless router, will work with a standard network adapter 10/100 PCI card?

In the instuctions the router says it works with a NIC network adapter 10/100 PCI card.

Are these the same card, or do I need to by a new adapter card??

This is the router I bought:

Hi Col., (NIC, Network Interface Card) if you attach a network cable to the router all should be fine. Most (if not all ) routers allow up to 4 simultanious connections at once. In any combination of wired/wireless. I have a usb wireless on my 98SE box and a hardwire to my XP machine. Both work well and I can do some serious net research at the same time. There shouldn't be any thing bad with the connect. It will work or it won't. (BTW, I sell network cards, routers Linksys, DLink, NetGear, etc for my living.) Luck to you.

P.S. Any time for my last pm?

Hi Mike.

I've not had much free time over the weekend to look at the model. The wife keeps finding me things to do! I'm not sure what is wrong with the model, but I'll look at it tonight. It's probably not much to fix.

LOL, I was just thinking that moments ago! I work 6 days a week and my wife believes it is her duty to fully occupy my time on the 7th, or I would just drift aimlessly about the house, or some such....

Cheers!

Hi Mike.

I need a bit of tech support!

I've got my ADSL router working, so that's good, but when I try to configure the firewall, all I seem to manage is block myself, which is not what I want to do!

The router I have is a D-Link DSL-604+. I've updared the firmware to the latest version, and that all went fine.

So, how do I get myself through the firewall?

I have sent the Setup guide and product manual in Adobe PDF format to you. I'm not directly famiilure with your router I'll have to study up a bit myself and see what is what.
