Title says it all. We could use some other modders for unassigned tasks - or to help us with some tasks like research etc, that are being worked on.
I have been holding off until SAW was done because some of our principal team members are commited there and I did not want to add additional pressures until the work was completed.
Say Yea or Nay?
Cheers
Capt. Kurt
Is it time to issue a general call for CAW volunteers?
Hey Kurt. i wouldnt mind doing some things. I had a go at the Chi Ha this morning and so far ive got most of the turret and tracks done (though looks like a dropped pie on a hot summer sidewalk)..but ill let Pobs fix that. teehee
i also fancy the idea of painting something..but i guess i should leave that area you up to you dean and that mad bugger..AJ

This is a big project Kurt, and I think we're to need all the help going. All the original CAW group have been notified about this board. Some of those I think are still engaged in SAW.
I think we should make a general appeal for assistance, but I think it would be good if the volounteers could work with people in charge of various bits of the project. Organisation is all here. People volounteering for specific tasks can be directed to this forum.
Along with the appeal, I suggest we ask Sandbagger (I've tipped him the nod about this place) if he can put up a CAW general information page at EAW Frontlines, just setting out what we're trying to do and giving a contact point for volounteers.
Meanwhile we can proceed on getting the CAW target locations done, so we will then have a functioning theatre.

I still have a week or two's work on SAW infront of me before I can concentrate on the carriers I'm afraid....
I think we will need help with aspects of this but I think we should prhaps have the basic framework agreed before we go public or we could end up with a lot of confusion and wasted effort... my view would be that we should finalise the mission structure, map coverage, target sites we want and the tmod list before we ask for helpers to come in and fill in the details with us..
cheers,
Pobs

Hello Pobs,
Guessed you'd still be with SAW for a few weeks more.
We have the map for CAW 1944 as below ...
Neira and VonOben have done the tile layout and topography (eaw.tm, eaw.hm and the terrain tiles) for this map. I'm about to set about the target location files (griddata.dat, targets.dat, airfields.dat) so within a week or two (whilst you are finishing SAW!) we should have a working theatre.
Before we can then go for target location layout, agreed, we must settle the tmod list. I suggest that unless anyone disagrees strongly, we adopt the original list with the small ammendments now made.

Excellent point Pobs. We're certainly going to try to model harbours and Japanese Naval bases, so we need wharves and cranes. We can probably loose a couple of the buildings in the Tmod list to this. How many slots do you think we need for this?

perhaps the HR divide & paste...so its in the one slot, quite close together..but you explode one..and the other goes with it...

I would recommend 2 slots , one for the wharf model and one for the cranes..... I would suggest for consideration that we don't need a lot of different tree models for making realistic forests... just a couple for variety would probably do... but I will go with the majority view on that one... I notice that we arent using tmods 36,37,38 at all in the list in the main tmod sticky...?
cheers,
Pobs

In your hands really Pobs, you suggest how best to do this and I'm sure it would find general acceptibility. If those unneeded tree slots could be used let's do it. What alternative slot useage do you suggest?
