soooorry, didn't mean to hit a sore point Shreck but suffer from simular dilema compounded since i'm just recovering from a HD screwup...asking myself what do i really what to work on here. My latest 'puter episode forced me to trim the fat but sticking with one or two projects, my approach to a different eastern front for starters...

Hell i don't even have my joystick reprogrammed yet, still back stepping my traces to things i lost. Did find backup files forgotten on Cd to my initial lame Hs129 skinnings...which weren't that bad if i reconsider cleaning up the cut and paste method from plates, a heck a-lot easier for me. And will get back to the invader skinpak when i'm back into a PSP frame of mine  ...Moggy.

but to clarify my quote it was just a generalized statement or an overview for the future not anything or anybody immediately now...this is a perfect example why i don't post to any controversial threads, you have to spend way too much time re-explaining yourself...

so thats all the airing out i have time for, catch you all at the other place.

Well, I can tell you that FlyRight sure helped me on modding things, as did JacKSprat, Crashin' Jack, Pobs and Von B.--and Aussie Jim, Geg, and another stepped in to get the design of our banner over the hump (we're still the only forum to have our own graphic banner link, AFAIK. )

And a certain Shreckster has lent a hand as well. And I love your stuff.
Glad you are doing it for your own satisfaction because we share in it.

It's tough to get a team together out of an open forum, or even get your own projects worked on and questions answered. But it does happen.

I drop by the Launchpad and see more than one group in there whaling away on new stuff, trying to sort it out--and having a good time doing it.

BTW, it's a good place to have a conversation. A chat room is really handy, while SimHQ is really clumsy for getting mod issues (and personal things) sorted out. A lot of mod questions can be answered in seconds in a chat, without a day's wait and wondering "what the hell was I talking about?"

So there are things simmering.

Shreck has earned a seat at the table. But the honor of being listened to has its downside, sir. It is said the Knights of the Round Table used to squabble constantly over bruised egos and get into fights. Do we know any forums where that happens?
The only thing for King Arthur to do was send them off in teams in search of the Holy Grail.

Every one here knows that I am NOT speaking of them,FlyRight has always been a prince ,as has Moggy,Woody,et al...my wrath is mainly focused on complacency and perceived ego....
I frequently make spontaneous repairs for our community, not to earn favors, but because I am imparting a level of freedom to the casual player, and piquing the curiousity of those more...artistically minded.Guys like Dancho, and FreddyB,and quite a few others have done this for the community for years,I am just the latest to take up the mantle.
I was astounded when Gramps skinned the F-7A(B-24) "the Cherokee Strip" for me,and I just asked to see what would be said  To be brutally honest, the changes at simhq have hurt our community, and for me personally, they have taken a fair amount of the joy out of the place  I used to get the biggest kick with Skylarks stupid Joke pics, and our news, remember our EAW forum news?,and the babes.....jesus guys,it just aint the same without the babes,we probably had the most restrained and tasteful babe postings any prudish turd in the world would have been okay with.....but they were still a day improver!for all of us who viewed them!
I post here and at Frugals, and both are wonderful, and terminally quiet,at simhq one can count on at least a half dozen new threads a day...but they are now as bland as an american beer :D
For gods sakes if shreck cant vent here, where the hell should I?
this is as close as we have to the "seed" of the EAW community right here.I still wonder at folks capacity to buy the IL-2/PF series and say...thats it,all other flightsims off of my HD!
I've got the darkside(all of them),still fly more EAW,hell I have a really tricked out CFS3 Korea, still fly more EAW,It is THE sim for me....and it is obviously so for the rest of this forums members...
I just had to vent!
Now I'll go back to the usual shreckisms and shrecktics and I'll chill out

Shreck me boy - you vent. The old and original version of the EAW community charter is in force here, which goes back to Combat.sim days:

Well, I sympathize, Shreckster. Go ahead and vent.

You've done gobs. And SimHQ ain't what it usedtabe. If I read them right, they are trying to make this a "family" place. :D

I suspect we'll see places like Frugals and Moggy's pick up.
